With the proclamation of Ameristar Casinos to give up its pursuit for the popular Western Massachusetts casino license, the number of seekers for the said license has decreased in the initial phase. The decision was taken by Ameristar in a press conference where it stated that although it had a nice proposal on table for a casino in Western Massachusetts, but it was not an appealing project to invest the probable money which could be invested in some other profitable venture.
As per statement given by Gordon Kanofsky, the chief executive officer of Ameristar, it was an intricate choice for them which will regrettably have a negative effect. It is because they would be unable to set-up a first-rate casino amusement service in Western Massachusetts. The internal assortment procedure and all the necessities of the project plus the consequent expenditure of rewarding the license were given up individually by Ameristar. All this was done in its fight for the large scale casino resort spa project costing $910 million.
Although this progression may be good news for other casinos who are seeking to get the license, but it may be inquired from Ameristar what they will do with 40 acres plot of land when they have already given up their idea of license acquisition. It is noteworthy that Ameristar bought the said land during start of the year in Springfield, Massachusetts. The company considers it to be the sole leading profitable land from business point of view in the City of Springfield.
Just more than a month back, the proposal of Ameristar for the pompous casino project in Springfield was disclosed. This casino project consists of a casino which will be spread over 150,000 sq. ft. of land and will possess 110 table games and 3,300 slot machines. Apart from this, it was also proposed by the company to construct a hotel with 500 deluxe rooms with 50 suites. There would be additional facilities as well in the hotel such as a spa, vending shops, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a group of restaurants which will have renowned cooks from across the globe.
All this concluded regrettably in zero. A contest which seemed hard to win for Ameristar was given up by the company. The company concluded to give up its temptation and leave the idea of investing millions of dollar on a productive project. It left others to struggle for the license and diverted its focus on some other venture.
