Penn National and MGM seem to have entered a boxing contest against each other with their efforts to defeat the rival at any cost. Ever since Martin O’Malley inked the pact, both Penn National and MGM have enhanced their moves with greater speed and leave no stone unturned to surpass the opponent.
MGM has put its all efforts to win the State’s sixth gambling license and has presented its case with solid reasons for establishing a casino. It has offered one more contribution of $3 million towards the gambling poll for enhanced gambling in respect of Maryland, making its total assistance to $5.4 million till now. Penn National has also not left behind in the move as it has tried to prevent the success of the poll by making an offering of $5.5 that roughly equals the one by MGM. The voters are being approached by Penn National to cast their voting against expanded gambling. Peter Carlino, its CEO suspected fixing of the issue in Maryland as talks between the operators & state representatives have not been transparent.
Things are taking a surprising shape with the issue, i.e. QUESTION 7, becoming a matter of funny discussion in the state. It is expected that such amazing things would continue for about one or two months till the poll takes place in November and the time till then would be a great fun for the people at large.
