A press conference and groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday in connection with addition of a hotel by Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs that would become the fourth facility in the state to have a hotel of its own. Construction for Pennsylvania’s first casino’s hotel would commence on 23rd of this month. Bobby Soper, the CEO of the casino expressed that the project includes a convention center too and the seven-storey 238-room hotel would cost approx $45 million. The entire project would be handed by the casino itself instead of getting it done by any outsider as planned earlier.
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is built on a spacious area of 400 acres, situated off Route 315. A record number of 2,300 slot machines, 82 table games, electronic table games, 55,000 sq ft gaming space, nightlife, dining & shopping facilities, live harness racing have been provided by the facility for complete entertainment of the valued clients. Soper expressed satisfaction about the project and said the hotel has been in discussion for the last many years. It would prove a point of attraction for visitors from far away places and enhance tourism. Mohegan Sun would compete Mount Airy Resort & Casino, Sands Bethlehem, when the project is completed, said Soper.
