DOWNTOWN- According to the information provided by Jim Hess, the site executive and a senior vice president at Messer Construction Co., the construction work of the forthcoming Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati at Broadway Commons is in full swing. Construction workers counting 475 in number are engaged at the construction place with the inclusion of casino complex in the project the past month. The division of work between workers is as- 100 workers engaged in interior carpentry and drywall labor; 75 workers engaged in setting up wiring and electrical system; 100 workers involved in building up fifth and last floor of the parking lot; 75 workers engaged in setting up mechanical systems such as heating, cooling, plumbing and sprinklers and 125 workers engaged in carrying out other petty jobs of the project. Around 1,600 workers have worked on the project till now since its commencement in Feb. 2011. The work on interior is being speeded up and that of outside finishes is about to complete. As stated by Steve Rosenthal, the Rock Gaming chief, the eagerness is increasing with the completion of construction work and they are delighted with the development of a parking space into a downtown casino. He added that the project has been completed within prescribed time limit and in set budget. The opening date of the casino is yet to be announced and it depends on the state administrators.
In the meantime, the casino is recruiting around 1,700 stable employees for management posts. Applications will be invited from candidates interested in dealer positions involving wide-ranging training. An advertisement related to security, cooks and bartenders jobs will be published at the year end. The pay scales for these jobs will be in tune with that of its counterpart casino in Cleveland where dealers and supervisors are paid $35,000 to $40,000 and servers are paid $12,000 (with tips as extra) on annual basis. After completion of the construction work, the casino operations will be handed over to associate and minority owner Caesars Entertainment Corp. by the Rock Gaming which will remain engaged in local business community.
