The lawmakers of New Jersey sent the intrastate online gambling bill to the office of Governor Chris Christie a short while ahead of Christmas. Now Chris Christie is being stressed by public via Senators to increase the chances of signing of the gambling bill by the Governor. Steve Sweeney-the President of council along with Ray Lesniak, Jeff Van Drew and James Whelan-the co-supporters of the bill sent a written correspondence to Chris Christie on Thursday. In the correspondence, the Governor was told again by the Senators that by converting New Jersey into a center of Internet Gaming would enhance the financial movements, heightened tax incomes and improved jobs in the state. Also the state will be benefited as it will have to spend only a small amount of money for this.
As reported by John Brennan of NorthJersey.com, it was also mentioned in the correspondence that keeping in view the economic crisis of Atlantic City Casino and the Hurricane Sandy’s onslaught bill, the legislators and the public are not in a position to hang around for much time for enactment of the gambling law. Christie has enough time to think over the gambling bill and decide if he would affix the same with his signatures or would replicate his refusal of an identical law which he did in 2011.
The representative of 6th District of New Jersey in the Central House of Representatives- Frank Pallone is doubtful about the position authorized by the Judge Michael Shipp to the sports betting companies during past week. It is noteworthy that these companies are taking legal action to upset the betting law of Garden State. Pallone presented a bill into the House to include name of New Jersey in the record of states which are freed from the central PASPA sports betting ban during the current year.
